Congratulations! If you have found your way to this post, you are probably planning a wedding! There are so many decisions that must be made when planning your wedding… from the obvious decisions like a dress and color scheme but even to the napkins, linens, venue coordinator… the list can go on and on! But, at Carley Ann Photography, it is my mission to help you through every step of the process. That is why, I have visited venues in Texas for you! I have narrowed my search down to my top five favorite locations.

As you begin looking at locations, the venue that you choose will set the tone and backdrop for your day. So, I urge you to first create a list of items that are most important to you. Maybe you want outdoor wedding party photos in a field surrounded by lots of beautiful trees, maybe you are looking for a more traditional approach and want to get married in a church and then have a reception elsewhere, maybe you want a venue that is near a major airport and large hotels. These are all very important to consider first before determining your venue.

So as you keep that in mind… Here are the Carley Ann Photography top wedding venue picks in Houston, Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex!

1. Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

My first pick is the historic Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Tucked back in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Dallas is a stately mansion that was completed in 1925. The construction and design was heavily influenced by the couple’s European travels and worldly experiences. While on my tour, I was shown the suite that was given to President Franklin D. Roosevelt when he visited! They even put in a bathroom just for him but it became such a popular selfie spot that the hotel closed the bathroom off as to not disturb guests as they dined and visited just below.

Today, the estate has been added onto and is now a luxury hotel as well. Between the intimate bar, the welcoming staff, the gorgeous suites, and the outdoor venue space this hotel is a stunning backdrop to any wedding.

Picture this… you have one of the beautiful suites reserved to get ready with your girls where you can look out over the Lawn and Garden to see your reception details coming together before your very eyes. As you are getting excited for the party that is just about to unfold, it’s time to say “I do” first! You are escorted down to the Promenade and Pavilion where your ceremony is in front of beautiful, stately, arched windows. With all of the soft, evening light coming through the windows, the mood will be instantly romantic. (And, if you have been around Texas for a while, a big pro to an indoor wedding is the climate control! You never know which October day will be 90+ degrees). After the vows are stated and you share your first kiss as husband and wife, you take some time for yourself to enjoy the moment and when you are ready, you enter the Lawn and Garden for a beautiful clear tent wedding where twinkle lights have been strung and you can see the stars even beyond them. The Lawn makes a perfect location to dance the night away and have your dinner with your friends and family.

If I haven’t sold you on it yet, go visit!! There are many different ways that the space can be used to make your dreams come true. The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek would be a beautiful place to say “I do”.

2. The Mason

My second venue pick is The Mason. Which is another historic location in the heart of Dallas! If you are as in love with French inspired architecture and detail as I am, you will be in LOVE! Constructed in 1920, this building has recently found its new purpose as a wedding and event space. With 10,000 square feet between two floors (and about to have an additional third floor with an additional bridal suite!) there is plenty of room to throw an epic and timeless wedding.

The Mason has the most unique bridal suite that I have ever seen! With its light green walls and high ceilings, it makes you feel as though you are in a French Chateau and you are getting ready to meet a queen. The upstairs Ballroom – which is right off of the bridal suite and allows for a perfect grand entrance spot – with its stunning chandeliers and fireplace backdrop would be a breathtaking spot to become the new Mr. and Mrs.! Just imagine the floral arrangement that could be created around the fireplace and on the piano! Perfection!

After the ceremony, guests can enjoy a cocktail hour just off of the Ballroom. This lounge is already perfectly decorated and furnished! You will notice all of the subtle peacock décor as well… I am not sure if they have a signature drink at The Mason, but I would hope that it features the peacocks! As guests enjoy their drinks and trickle their way down the stairs for dinner, we will take a few more photos (dependent on the timeline we have determined) and allow you two to have a moment as husband and wife before being introduced for the very first time at dinner!

Between the herringbone wood floors, the large natural light windows, and the character that this venue has, it would be hard to pass up the opportunity of having your wedding at The Mason!

3. Aristide | Colleyville

The Aristide in Colleyville is located in an adorable Tuscan style village just outside of Dallas! If you are looking for an Italian courtyard and a modern chapel, you are going to be excited about this one! It’s perfect for the couples looking to get married in a chapel and have the reception in the same building! The Aristide has just recently updated their chapel and it is bright, white, and beautiful! With a mix of traditional pews and modern chandeliers this venue is sure to astound!

In addition to the recent updates to the chapel, the bride and grooms suites have also been updated. In the bridal area, they have designed this with the ladies in mind! Floor to ceiling mirror and six vanity chairs so that everyone can easily get ready together. I love that they have even completed the room with safety pin and cotton ball jars! As I am sure you have experienced, those are items you always need and rarely have! And let’s not overlook the bar cart that is just waiting for the mimosa station to be setup!

For the men’s suite, it is complete with a sectional, flat screen TV, and stunning accents. This is a great space to hang out with your guys before walking down the aisle!

After having your ceremony in the lovely chapel, guests can walk down a short corridor to find the ballroom where dinner will be served and guests can sip on drinks at the bar while they wait for your introductions as the new Mr. and Mrs.!  This ballroom allows for plenty of space for both tables and a dance floor.

4. The Olana

A French-inspired venue fit to host ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise‘s Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk’s wedding! This private home-turned venue is the ultimate wedding venue. Tucked away in Hickory Creek, Texas, the Olana has a bowling alley, basketball court, an indoor and an outdoor pool, a secret garden, a huge bridal suite, and plenty of spaces to make your wedding unique from all of the rest.

This 48,000 square foot mansion is the height of elegance and is sure to wow your guests. Whether your day brings rain or shine, any space in the Olana is a stunning backdrop to say “I do”.

5. Chateau Cocomar

Are you wanting to feel like a true princess on your wedding day? Well look no further because Chateau Cocomar is the definition of a princess castle! Located in the heart of Houston, this 37,000 square foot French-Inspired estate sits on 7 acres and offers 7 private suites, 2 ballrooms, and can host just under 1,000 guests.

If you are looking for a venue with that “wow” factor, then this is the venue for you. There are so many ways for you to make this space your own.

6. The Milestone | Aubrey

The Milestone in Aubrey sits on 52 acres in the countryside of North Texas. With a mansion that has been completely renovated and a stunning white barn you have plenty of options for stunning venue space.

The mansion offers a beautiful (and large) bridal suite with plenty of natural light. The hallways are grand and make for just as lovely picture settings as any other part of the property.

The barn has the best of both worlds with a lovely white exterior with a traditional brown interior. If you are in search of rolling hills, a stunning southern mansion, and a classic barn then I am so pleased to congratulate you because you have just found your wedding venue!!
